AIC Talks「齊物達(dá)觀」知識(shí)講壇系列, Nicola老師以歌唱加演講方式，分享她的表演經(jīng)驗(yàn)

上周三, AIC Talks「齊物達(dá)觀」知識(shí)講壇系列, 由AIC的戲劇老師與藝術(shù)科負(fù)責(zé)人Nicola老師擔(dān)任主講嘉賓。

Last Wednesday was the next in our series of AIC Talks. Our speaker for the day was Nicola, our Drama teacher and Head of Creative Arts.

Nicola畢業(yè)于倫敦皇家霍洛威大學(xué)，獲得戲劇和戲劇研究學(xué)士學(xué)位。在成為一名全職教師之前，她曾在社區(qū)從事藝術(shù)工作，在英國和國外建立了幾個(gè)不同的戲劇小組。Nicola已經(jīng)在國際學(xué)校工作了9年，最初在贊比亞，后來來到中國。她喜歡課堂戲劇，用戲劇作為探索社會(huì)問題的工具;她也致力于創(chuàng)作作品，并上演了幾部完整的音樂劇。在教學(xué)閑暇時(shí)間，Nicola喜歡瑜伽。作為專業(yè)表演者，她還喜歡進(jìn)行個(gè)人表演。

Nicola graduated from Royal Holloway University London with a BA in Drama and Theatre Studies. Before becoming a full-time teacher, Nicola worked in community arts, establishing drama groups in several different settings, in the UK and abroad. Nicola has been working in international schools for the last nine years, initially in Zambia and latterly in China. She enjoys classroom drama, using theatre as a tool to explore social and political issues but is also committed to production work and has staged several full-scale musicals. When she is not teaching, Nicola enjoys yoga and as a trained performer, staging solo performances.

此次活動(dòng)的主持人是來自 IGCSE2A 的 Kenny 和 Delia，這兩名學(xué)生同時(shí)也是Nicola老師帶領(lǐng)的戲劇課學(xué)生與 LAMDA 的學(xué)員。

Emcees for the event were Kenny and Delia from IGCSE2A, two students who work with Nicola in drama and in the LAMDA programme.

由DP1戲劇學(xué)生Joyce Lin進(jìn)行了開場(chǎng)表演。Joyce演繹了一段她在最近的 LAMDA 考試中表演的獨(dú)白，這是一篇關(guān)于女孩與自己“身材焦慮”的發(fā)人深省的文章。

Joyce Lin, a DP1 drama student, gave the opening performance. Joyce performed a monologue from her recent LAMDA exam, a thought-provoking piece about a girl’s relationship with her body.

此次演講, Nicola以歌唱加演講方式，分享她的一些表演經(jīng)驗(yàn)。Nicola向我們講述了她曾經(jīng)以 Mitzi Maybe 的藝名與她的舞臺(tái)搭檔 Sally Scrumptious 一起表演的節(jié)目的經(jīng)歷。

Nicola向大家表演了兩段她和Sally一起創(chuàng)作的作品“光榮的我”和“米茲的激情”, 她向我們講述了這些歌曲背后的故事以及如何將這些歌曲融入她的表演。

Nicola還演唱了《音樂之聲》中的一首歌, 她講述了人們?nèi)绾谓?jīng)常將她與歌手Julie Andrews進(jìn)行比較。因此，她決定也演唱一些Julie出名的歌曲。

Nicola talked and sang, sharing some of her performance experiences. She told us about the show she used to perform under the stage name of Mitzi Maybe with her stage partner Sally Scrumptious.

She sang two parodies from their cabaret show, Me Glorious Me and Mitzi’s Passion, that she wrote with Sally. Nicola told us about the stories behind these songs and how they fitted into her show.

Nicola also sang a song from The Sound of Music. Nicola explained how people have often compared her to the singer Julie Andrews. As a result, she has decided to sing some of the songs made famous by her.

Nicola老師以個(gè)人表演魅力以及曼妙的歌聲帶動(dòng)著全場(chǎng)的氣氛,在場(chǎng)的學(xué)生與老師們都被她的精彩表演所深深吸引著, 掌聲此起彼伏。Nicola老師獨(dú)具個(gè)人風(fēng)格的演講, 引人入勝的同時(shí), 更為我們學(xué)生在日后的個(gè)人演講做出了很好的示范。

Nicola's gorgeous and charming performance with her personal identity attracted every students. Moreover, she has made a good example for our students in future personal speeches.

在演講中, Nicola也找來了一些DP2 的學(xué)生們?yōu)樗莩摹肮陋?dú)的牧羊人”一曲表演故事。學(xué)生們的演繹生動(dòng)有趣, 活靈活現(xiàn), 為演講掀起了另一個(gè)高潮。

For the song of The Lonely Goatherd, Nicola was assisted by some of the DP2 students. They acted out the story while she sang the narrative.

Nicola一共演唱了五首歌，她演繹的最后兩首歌曲為「有人給我送花」和「夜店老板娘」。為了讓學(xué)生更好的理解演講內(nèi)容, 演講由英語老師 Thomas 協(xié)助 Nicola 做中文翻譯。Thomas幽默風(fēng)趣的中文翻譯展現(xiàn)了他獨(dú)特的個(gè)人風(fēng)格。

For the Talk, Nicola was assisted with translation by Thomas, our English teacher. Thomas ably translated, providing his own distinctive character.
