深圳市楓葉學(xué)?！獥魅~高中 | 日新月異，“楓”起云涌——記加拿大選舉派對(duì)

2019年10月21日，加拿大新一屆執(zhí)政黨選舉正式開始了！楓葉學(xué)校的高中生們也實(shí)時(shí)收看了這次選舉的直播。On October 21st, 2019, the 2019 Canadian Election formally begin! The grade 10 and 11 students of Maple Leaf International Academy-ShenZhen, are watching the live stream of this election.

在觀看直播之前，老師饒有創(chuàng)意地讓所有學(xué)生先投出了自己的一票——假設(shè)你是一位加拿大人，你希望投票給哪個(gè)政黨?楓葉學(xué)子們?cè)诮?jīng)歷上周的辯論和論文寫作等活動(dòng)之后，也身臨其境般地做出自己的選擇。

The most exciting part began at 9:50AM, when the students got the chance to take their own vote, just like a Canadian citizen. We also prepared for this event on the previous week by writing essays about the party each one of us support, and of course, debating. All these preparation are so that we could make our own choice in the real election.

會(huì)議室里，老師同學(xué)齊聚一堂，歡度一場(chǎng)“選舉派對(duì)”。房間里裝飾著紅白兩色的氣球和加拿大國(guó)旗，更增添了獨(dú)特的活動(dòng)氛圍。等等，那是什么?為什么會(huì)議室里會(huì)有廚具和薄煎餅原料呢?

Students and teachers all gathered around in the conference room, where an Election Party is held. The room is full of balloons, decorated with Canadian flags. And guess what? There are also stoves and pancake materials. What?

原來Mr. O’Brien 在制作薄煎餅上也有一番心得，真是“博學(xué)多才”啊!校長(zhǎng)Dr. Dawson和加方社會(huì)學(xué)老師Mr. O’Brien一起做出的薄煎餅更是“外焦里嫩”“十里飄香”。

Our teacher Mr. O’Brien and Principle Dr.Dawson surprised us by their pancakes-making technique. Their pancakes was absolutely De-li-cious!

小小的會(huì)議室里香氣彌漫，簡(jiǎn)單的薄煎餅卻甜到了心里，看著遙遠(yuǎn)的地球另一端緊張而激動(dòng)的選舉，聽到同學(xué)老師熱切的討論和不時(shí)的歡聲笑語，竟一時(shí)分不清身在何方，雖是課堂，勝似友人聚家旁。

In this small conference room we observed the exciting election from half a world away, discussing about the party each one of us supports the most... Every student has been waiting for this moment for months!

隨著選舉的進(jìn)行，局勢(shì)變得明朗起來，也是“幾家歡喜幾家愁”。大家安靜下來，聽Dawson校長(zhǎng)解釋當(dāng)前形勢(shì)和直播內(nèi)容的詳細(xì)含義。

As the election moves on, the situation on the other globe become clear--- The room got silent---Everyone is waiting for the final result to come out. Meanwhile we listened to the narration of the tendency given by Dr.Dawson.

在選舉開始前，所有學(xué)生和老師都進(jìn)行了對(duì)下議院各黨派議員數(shù)量的預(yù)測(cè)，與最終結(jié)果最接近的同學(xué)將獲得一份幸運(yùn)獎(jiǎng)品——產(chǎn)自加拿大的薄煎餅和楓糖漿，Ta將可以自己制作Mr. O’Brien同款薄煎餅!

Before the election began, we all took our guesses on the number of the parliament seats each party will win, and the student with the beat guess will be given a Canadian present---pancakes and a bottle of maple syrup.

最后，學(xué)生們的投票結(jié)果統(tǒng)計(jì)出來了。根據(jù)票數(shù)，各個(gè)黨派自成一隊(duì)，進(jìn)行了加拿大小知識(shí)有獎(jiǎng)問答，內(nèi)容涉及加拿大地理、政治、體育、音樂和其他小知識(shí)，在音樂聲中，圓滿地結(jié)束了這次開心而激動(dòng)的派對(duì)。

In the end of the party, the results of our votes earlier came out. Each “Party ” stood together with their comrades, and performed a Canadian knowledge test. We ended this party with music, and the pops of the balloons.

作為學(xué)生，我們有幸能夠在學(xué)習(xí)加拿大政治和社會(huì)學(xué)的期間觀看這樣一次選舉。而作為楓葉學(xué)子，我們有幸能像這樣在學(xué)中玩、在玩中學(xué)。寓教于樂，正是如此。
