深圳市楓葉學(xué)校——深楓學(xué)子征戰(zhàn)世界學(xué)者杯，勇闖耶魯冠軍賽！

在2019年11月初，兩位11年級(jí)的同學(xué)王安涵和皮錦潤(rùn)成功通過了馬尼拉全球賽進(jìn)入了最終的耶魯冠軍賽。而整個(gè)競(jìng)賽的主題，也就是今年世界學(xué)者杯賽事的主題，是以邊緣的世界開展的。

In early November 2019, after competing in the Regional Round then the Manila Not-So-Mini Global Round, two students of Grade 11, Ann and Sherlock successfully made it to the last round of World Scholar’s Cup Season 2019, the Tournament of Champions at Yale University.

The whole competition was based on one theme, and the theme for Season 2019 was A World on the Margins.

From the theme, there would be 6 subjects: Special Area, Social Studies,History, Science, Art & Music, Literature. The competition had 4 major competing parts. They all involve team collaboration more or less: Scholar's Challenge, Collaborative Writing, Team Debate, Scholar's Bowl.

整個(gè)競(jìng)賽以未解之謎，社會(huì)學(xué)，歷史，科學(xué)，音樂和藝術(shù)，文學(xué)等六個(gè)學(xué)科開展，并主要以學(xué)術(shù)挑戰(zhàn)選擇題，合作論文，團(tuán)隊(duì)辯論，和團(tuán)隊(duì)限時(shí)答題開展。

The competition structure of TOC is exactly the same as the Global Round. However, the competitors this time were top scholars (also known as “students”) from over 60 countries in the world, making this an extremely difficult task physically and mentally. Despite the fact that the competition brought a great pressure, our two scholars took it as an opportunity for learning and gaining experiences.

TOC的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)結(jié)構(gòu)與全球賽很相似。然而，這次的參賽選手都是來自世界60多個(gè)國(guó)家的頂尖學(xué)者(也被稱為“學(xué)生”)，這對(duì)他們的身心來說都是一項(xiàng)極其艱巨的任務(wù)。盡管比賽帶來了很大的壓力，我們兩位學(xué)者還是把它當(dāng)成了一個(gè)學(xué)習(xí)和積累經(jīng)驗(yàn)的機(jī)會(huì)。

at Harvard University

During the journey of learning and experiencing, our scholars communicated with the different cultures from all over the world since there were people from over 60 countries, and they had broadened their horizons within these communications. On the other hand, for the first time, our scholars had learned how different groups of people from different regions live under their own cultures. Under the environment of learning and competing, our scholars enjoyed the entire journey with a positive attitude. After the intense two-day competing session, during the breaks from the journey, our scholars also experienced the scenery and the academic atmosphere at Yale University, as well as Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston.

在整個(gè)旅途的過程中，兩位同學(xué)與來自世界的不同文化習(xí)慣進(jìn)行了交流，開闊了眼界。也第一次了解到不同的地區(qū)以及不同的人群是如何生活的。在競(jìng)賽中，兩位同學(xué)也以積極的態(tài)度盡情享受了整個(gè)比賽?；顒?dòng)間隙，還領(lǐng)略了美國(guó)耶魯大學(xué)，哈佛大學(xué)和麻省理工學(xué)院的風(fēng)景以及學(xué)術(shù)氛圍。

With the flags of over 60 delegates that attended the competition waving in the Woosley Hall of Yale University, marked the end of the WSC Season 2019, this one-week wonderful journey for the two scholars had come to an end.

隨著超過60個(gè)參賽地區(qū)的旗幟在耶魯大學(xué)的Woosley大廳中飄揚(yáng)起來，標(biāo)志著世界學(xué)者被2019賽季的結(jié)束，這趟為期一周的耶魯之行落下了帷幕。讓我們一起期待深圳楓葉下一次精彩的活動(dòng)和表現(xiàn)。
