大家都要記住，養(yǎng)育好孩子是世界上最令人有成就感的工作。在家里和學(xué)校里營(yíng)造一種熱情善良，勤奮學(xué)習(xí)和用心服務(wù)的氛圍，是我們應(yīng)該做的最重要的工作。

Dear Parents,

親愛(ài)的家長(zhǎng)朋友們：

A prominent joy this past month was the opening ceremony for 2020–2021. The students, teachers, and parents gave heartfelt speeches and performances, which made me feel grateful and excited to begin the new school year.

在過(guò)去的這一個(gè)月時(shí)間里，對(duì)于瑞得福國(guó)際學(xué)校來(lái)說(shuō)最重要的歡樂(lè)時(shí)刻就是2020-2021年的開(kāi)學(xué)典禮。在典禮現(xiàn)場(chǎng)，同學(xué)們、老師們和家長(zhǎng)朋友們發(fā)表了誠(chéng)摯的演講，還有精彩美妙的演出，這讓我對(duì)新學(xué)年的開(kāi)始充滿感激和興奮。

Another highlight has been seeing friends learning together. Naturally, the students are developing love and respect for their teachers. Smiles and good feelings are evident throughout our teaching buildings, common areas, and playgrounds.

另一個(gè)亮點(diǎn)是看到同學(xué)們回歸校園一起學(xué)習(xí)。在這個(gè)過(guò)程中，同學(xué)們正在培養(yǎng)對(duì)老師的敬愛(ài)和尊重。在我們的教學(xué)樓、公共區(qū)域和運(yùn)動(dòng)場(chǎng)上，歡樂(lè)的笑臉隨處可見(jiàn)。

I’m also glad to say we are offering new AP classes this year, which have been popular among students.

我們很高興地宣布學(xué)校今年又開(kāi)設(shè)了新的AP課程，這些課程廣受同學(xué)們歡迎。

Here are some other highlights from the last three weeks:

Students enjoyed two days of Orientation Activities. They worked as teams and cheered for each other throughout the events. It was thrilling to watch individual students test their courage and succeed in various physical challenges. We gave awards to teams and individuals at a spirited closing ceremony.

學(xué)生們參加了為期兩天的開(kāi)學(xué)破冰拓展活動(dòng)。在整個(gè)活動(dòng)過(guò)程中，同學(xué)們以團(tuán)隊(duì)形式進(jìn)行協(xié)調(diào)合作并相互加油鼓勵(lì)，為彼此歡呼。看著每個(gè)同學(xué)在各種運(yùn)動(dòng)挑戰(zhàn)中激發(fā)出自己的潛能、勇氣并取得成功，真是令人激動(dòng)。在熱烈的閉幕式上，我們?yōu)閳F(tuán)隊(duì)和個(gè)人準(zhǔn)備了頒獎(jiǎng)儀式。

I have been impressed by the teaching and learning which I have observed in the first week of classes. Students are learning from caring, knowledgeable instructors who are highly qualified to teach their subjects.

根據(jù)我的觀課所得，第一周課堂上的教學(xué)，讓人為之喜悅。同學(xué)們正在向有愛(ài)心且知識(shí)淵博的老師們學(xué)習(xí)。我們的老師們?cè)谧约核诘膶?zhuān)業(yè)領(lǐng)域都有很強(qiáng)的教學(xué)能力。

Safety remains a priority at RDFIS, and COVID-19 prevention and control measures will continue in accordance with government requirements, best practice, and common sense. We have been successful in implementing our safety measures for the past six months, since the beginning of the pandemic.

確保師生的人身安全仍然是瑞得福國(guó)際學(xué)校重中之重的工作，新冠疫情預(yù)防和控制措施將繼續(xù)按照政府的要求，根據(jù)最佳的防控實(shí)踐和通用方法進(jìn)行。自新冠疫情發(fā)生以來(lái)，我們學(xué)校在過(guò)去六個(gè)月中已經(jīng)成功踐行了安全有效的疫情防控措施。

School employees enjoyed two weeks of useful back-to-school trainings. The teachers prepared their classrooms and curricula for principle-focused learning through the four R’s: Research, Reason, Relate, and Record.

學(xué)校教職工進(jìn)行了為期兩周的實(shí)用返校培訓(xùn)。教師們通過(guò)四R方法(研究、推理、關(guān)聯(lián)和記錄)進(jìn)行備課以達(dá)成原理聚焦式學(xué)習(xí)的目標(biāo)。

As you visit our campus again, you will find that the facilities have changed.

We renovated our library and added about a thousand new classic books.

我們翻新了圖書(shū)館并增加了1000本經(jīng)典書(shū)籍。

We also renovated our performance hall on the seventh floor of Building B.

我們還翻修了B棟七樓的演播廳。

We resurfaced our basketball, volleyball, badminton, and tennis courts, and resurfaced our track.

我們重新鋪設(shè)了籃球場(chǎng)、排球場(chǎng)、羽毛球場(chǎng)、網(wǎng)球場(chǎng)以及我們的田徑跑道。

We believe the students will like these upgraded venues. Thank you to the Board of Directors for making these changes possible.

* SCHOOL PAL 校寶在線

We are adopting School Pal this year as our school management software and student information system. The system is used in many schools across China as a bilingual Chinese and English school management system that offers several advantages of convenience for parents and students, such as a fully Chinese interface for parents and a mini-program for WeChat. Given these and other advantages, School Pal is replacing our PowerSchool system. Instructions on how to access and use this program will be sent soon to parents and students.

Student-led clubs are also launching their enrollment campaigns this coming week! Students can attend our “RDFIS Club Market” to sign up to participate in student-led organizations that instruct and provide activities in Chinese and international culture, mock trial, baking, musicals singing and performance, animal protection, intellectual studies, drone “Free Fly” instruction, and much more. Many thanks to the RDF Student Government for coordinating our student organizations!

Do you know someone who would appreciate RDF’s culture of educating hearts and minds for beautiful family culture? Our next open days are Saturday, September 5, 9:00 AM and Saturday, September 22, with more Open Days in the future.

Let’s all remember that raising children well is the most satisfying work in the world. Establishing an atmosphere of responsive kindness, diligent learning, and heartfelt service at home and at school is the most important work we will ever do. In my experience, when the deeply held core values of home and school align, it is amazing the good that can be accomplished!
