敬請(qǐng)各位家長(zhǎng)朋友在9月17日或18日安排出時(shí)間來(lái)學(xué)校跟各科目老師會(huì)面溝通。這是一個(gè)您與孩子的老師們見(jiàn)面并討論孩子學(xué)業(yè)成長(zhǎng)進(jìn)步狀況的機(jī)會(huì)。

Dear RDFIS Families and Employees,

親愛(ài)的各位家長(zhǎng)朋友、教職工同事們，

School is well underway. The students have settled into their classes. They have received their books and binders. Teaching and learning has commenced!

學(xué)校已經(jīng)開(kāi)學(xué)，一切運(yùn)行良好。同學(xué)們?cè)诎嗌习差D了下來(lái)，逐漸適應(yīng)課堂節(jié)奏。他們已經(jīng)拿到新教材和學(xué)習(xí)文件夾。瑞得福國(guó)際學(xué)校教學(xué)工作穩(wěn)步開(kāi)啟。

After the summer vacation, the teachers are delighted to have the chance to mingle with the students again in the classrooms, common areas, canteens, and courts.

暑假過(guò)后，老師們很高興能再次在教室、公共區(qū)域、食堂和運(yùn)動(dòng)場(chǎng)與同學(xué)們見(jiàn)面交流。

I enjoyed visiting the evening study rooms this week to observe the students. The students are hard at work on their varied and interesting assignments.

這個(gè)星期，我很享受通過(guò)參觀晚間自習(xí)室來(lái)觀察了解同學(xué)們的學(xué)習(xí)情況。大家正在努力完成豐富又帶有趣味的作業(yè)。

The students informed me that they are enjoying their classes and are happy to be back in the RDF swing of things.

同學(xué)們告訴我，他們很喜歡自己的課程，很開(kāi)心能回到瑞得福國(guó)際學(xué)校熟悉的課堂中。

Application season is upon us! Application portals are open for Fall 2021 applications, or will be soon.

又到了準(zhǔn)備申請(qǐng)大學(xué)的季節(jié)!申請(qǐng)門(mén)戶(hù)網(wǎng)站已經(jīng)或很快將要為申請(qǐng)2021年秋季入學(xué)的同學(xué)們開(kāi)放。

Parents can help students follow our year-by-year college preparation guide.

家長(zhǎng)可以根據(jù)我們每年的大學(xué)準(zhǔn)備指南，給予孩子們幫助。

To begin, it is time for G12 students to write essays and to request letters of recommendation from their teachers.

是時(shí)候讓12年級(jí)的同學(xué)們開(kāi)始寫(xiě)論文，并請(qǐng)求老師開(kāi)具推薦信了。

* THREE-WAY CONFERENCES 家長(zhǎng)會(huì)

Please plan to join us on campus on September 17 or 18 to visit with faculty. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and to discuss your child’s academic progress. At least one parent is strongly encouraged to attend. The registration details will be shared next week. Please watch for a follow-up message from your homeroom teacher.

* CLUB MARKET 社團(tuán)招新活動(dòng)

Student-led clubs are launching their enrollment campaigns next week! Students can attend our “RDFIS Club Market” and sign up to participate in student-led organizations that instruct and provide activities in Chinese and international culture, mock trial, baking, musical theater, animal protection, intellectual studies, drone “Free Fly” instruction, and much more. Many thanks to the RDF Student Government for coordinating our student organizations!

學(xué)生主導(dǎo)的社團(tuán)也將在下周進(jìn)行招新活動(dòng)!同學(xué)們可以參加我們的“RDFIS社團(tuán)招新活動(dòng)”，報(bào)名參加學(xué)生們自己主導(dǎo)的社團(tuán)，這些社團(tuán)協(xié)會(huì)活動(dòng)涵括指導(dǎo)和提供國(guó)內(nèi)和國(guó)際文化的活動(dòng)，如模擬法庭、烘焙、音樂(lè)演唱與表演、動(dòng)物保護(hù)、人工智能研究、無(wú)人機(jī)“自由飛行”教學(xué)等等。非常感謝我們的學(xué)生會(huì)，協(xié)調(diào)我們學(xué)生社團(tuán)的組織工作!

* OPEN DAYS 校園開(kāi)放日

Do you know someone who would appreciate RDF’s culture of educating hearts and minds for beautiful family culture? If so, invite them to come see our classrooms, visit the dorms and canteen, take the admissions test, and meet administrators and teachers! Our next open days are Saturday, September 5, 9:00 AM, and Saturday, September 19, with more Open Days in the future.

* SPORTS REPORTS 體育賽事戰(zhàn)報(bào)

Our volleyball coaches, Mr. Tippetts and Mr. Terekhno, reported:

我們的排球教練Tippetts老師和Terekhno老師報(bào)告說(shuō)：

“Our volleyball teams had a very busy start to the year with practices beginning on the first day of school! Although some competitive games have been delayed or canceled out of safety concerns for the virus, we are working hard to create safe opportunities to play against other schools.

“我們的排球隊(duì)開(kāi)學(xué)第一天就開(kāi)始了忙碌的訓(xùn)練!出于對(duì)預(yù)防新冠病毒的安全考慮，一些比賽被推遲或取消，但我們正在努力創(chuàng)造安全的與其他學(xué)校比賽的機(jī)會(huì)。

“On August 26, RDF's first athletic competition of the year took place at RDF against VMA, a great school located nearby in Dameisha. We're very lucky to be able to compete so early in the season so that we can fine-tune our practices and prepare for league games in the future.

“ 8月26日，我們的年度首場(chǎng)體育比賽是在瑞得福校園舉行的，比賽雙方分別為瑞得福學(xué)校與萬(wàn)科梅沙書(shū)院。我們很幸運(yùn)能夠在本賽季這么早就參加了比賽，這樣的話，我們就可以調(diào)整訓(xùn)練節(jié)奏并為將來(lái)的聯(lián)賽做準(zhǔn)備。

“For our boys volleyball team, the first friendly game was a heartbreaker. Although the team demonstrated good individual skills, we couldn’t gel to achieve the necessary level of team cooperation to attain victory. Losing is a part of the game. We will learn from it and do better next time.

“對(duì)于我們的男子排球隊(duì)來(lái)說(shuō)，第一場(chǎng)友誼賽結(jié)果讓人難受。盡管團(tuán)隊(duì)展現(xiàn)出良好的個(gè)人技巧，但我們無(wú)法達(dá)到聯(lián)手合作取得勝利所必需的水平。輸球是比賽的一部分。我們將從中總結(jié)經(jīng)驗(yàn)教訓(xùn)，以便下次做得更好。

“The girls team, on the other hand, played outstanding and triumphed over the VMA girls team. Although it was the first game, our RDF girls team members worked together as though they had been playing together for years – probably because some of the actually some have! It's so great to see all of that hard work pay off in a game.”

“另一方面，女子排球隊(duì)表現(xiàn)出色，并戰(zhàn)勝了萬(wàn)科梅沙(VMA)女隊(duì)。盡管這是第一場(chǎng)比賽，但我們的RDF女子排球隊(duì)員看起來(lái)仿佛已經(jīng)在一起合作過(guò)好多年了——的確可能是因?yàn)橛幸恍┩瑢W(xué)以前在一起訓(xùn)練過(guò)!辛勤的訓(xùn)練付出終于收獲成功，看到這一切都真的讓人太開(kāi)心。”
