During the secondary school years, homework gets more intense, projects are more common and good grades become critical for university plans. And of course, there are higher expectations. Moving up in school, especially in international education, offers a range of possibilities and pathways to students in pursuit of their future career.

In our communication with Secondary parents, some very frequently asked questions are:

As parents, what can we do to support my child's learning?

What subjects should my child choose in order to get enough credits to graduate and become a doctor, lawyer, engineer, artist, etc?

My child seems not to have any goals for his/her future. What can we do to help?

English has been really hard for my child in Secondary classes. Why is that and what can we do about it?

If you have been thinking of or asking some of these questions in mind, then you cannot miss this opportunity to chat with our Secondary Principal Mr. Ted Barks!

With over 27 years' teaching and management experience, Mr. Barks has been working closely with Secondary (Grades 7 to 12) families in schools in Canada, New Zealand, Macau and of course at CIS, helping students plan for a successful future beyond high school. As a father, he always puts his parent hat on when it comes to giving constructive advice!

Mr. Barks is ready to share his valuable insights with you at 7-8pm on Wednesday, May 11, on the CIS campus.

This is an after-school event for both CIS and non-CIS families. Feel free to bring your child with you too! Simply scan the QR code in the poster to reserve a spot. If you have friends or family with secondary-aged children, feel free to forward the poster and invite them as well! All are welcome!
