Colorful ASAs
萬事屋是一個(gè)創(chuàng)新型的課后學(xué)生社團(tuán)。我們相信人的自信和解決問題的能力來源于對自己的了解和對事物規(guī)律的了解。因此,我們通過學(xué)習(xí)理工科的分析優(yōu)化思維來建立了解事物規(guī)律的模型,通過切身參與校內(nèi)社會(huì)實(shí)踐的形式來加深對自己的了解。
Yorozuya is an innovative after-school student club. We believe that one’s confidence in solving problems is rooted in the knowing of oneself and the knowing of laws of nature. Therefore, we will study scientific methodologies to promote the understanding of nature and participate in on-campus internships to deepen the understanding of our personalities.
自開課以來,同學(xué)們根據(jù)自己的興趣和選擇,投身到了放學(xué)后的校園工作之中。
Since the beginning of our club activities, students have been fully engaged in after-school internships based on their own interest and choice.
校醫(yī)室的小實(shí)習(xí)生們在校醫(yī)老師的指導(dǎo)下,學(xué)習(xí)了急救、血壓測量、藥品分類和使用、病例和文檔管理,還為受傷的同學(xué)進(jìn)行了傷口護(hù)理。他們在實(shí)操的同時(shí),還需要去思考和論證諸多有趣的問題,如:心肺復(fù)蘇的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)姿勢有什么科學(xué)性?如果穿越到古代要如何制作聽診器?如何通過往血液中添加不同的成分來升高或降低血壓?
Thanks to the mentoring of our school doctors, our little interns have not only studied basic clinical skills like CPR, blood pressure measurement, pharmacy knowledge, and document management, but also had opportunities to take care of other injured students. While working, they also need to think about many interesting questions, such as why the body position of CPR is so important, how to invent stethoscope if you were in the ancient China, and how to control one’s blood pressure by adding different ingredients in the blood.
園林組的同學(xué)們在園丁老師的指導(dǎo)下,通過除草、澆水、護(hù)理植株、林園修剪、種植花草和觀察鳥類等豐富的勞動(dòng)實(shí)踐,學(xué)習(xí)了諸多植物學(xué)知識和園藝技能。在實(shí)踐過程中,他們還需要鉆研園丁的學(xué)問,如:雜草的野蠻生長如何隨時(shí)間和其他要素變化?如何規(guī)劃和整備土地才能種下又多又健康的小樹苗?
In the gardener’s group, students are learning plants and horticulture through engaging in various practices like weeding, watering, trimming, tree caring, tree planting, and birds observing. While working, they are still solving gardener’s problems, such as how the population of weed varies over time and how to plant as many trees as possible within a limited space.
他們活躍在校園的每一個(gè)角落,為美麗校園貢獻(xiàn)自己的一份力量。
They are working in any corner of the school and contributing a small but significant effort to make our campus a better place!

幼兒部世界蜜蜂日活動(dòng)
ECE Bee Day
上周五是世界蜜蜂日,為了慶祝這一天,幼兒部的老師同學(xué)們都換上了可愛的蜜蜂服!PK1.1的同學(xué)們還開展了為期一周的蜜蜂專題學(xué)習(xí)!
It's World Bee Day last Friday. ECE celebrated the day together and PK1.1 even had a whole bee week!
歷史課 History Class
G6年級的小虎們上周以“地理大發(fā)現(xiàn)”為主題,進(jìn)行了以四人為單位的小組演講活動(dòng)。通過這次活動(dòng),同學(xué)們提升了團(tuán)隊(duì)分工協(xié)作能力、演示文稿的制作能力以及寫作能力,學(xué)習(xí)到了歐洲各國在15至17世紀(jì)開展的新航路探索以及殖民地的開辟情況。G7年級的同學(xué)觀賞了 “濟(jì)南劉家功夫針鋪”,這幅銅板是目前已知世界上最早的商標(biāo)廣告,鮮明地反映了當(dāng)時(shí)商鋪競爭之激烈,是宋朝商業(yè)空前發(fā)達(dá)的寫照。同學(xué)們還在舊有的廣告形式上進(jìn)行創(chuàng)作,展示了他們豐富的想象力。G8年級的同學(xué)則通過小組的形式,以上海作為中國的縮影,探究了中國近代史的歷程。
Last week, the Grade 6 Tigers gave a group speech on the theme of "Geographical Discovery." Through this activity, the students practiced teamwork, production and writing skills of PPT, and realized the exploration of new routes and the opening of colonies in Europe in the 15th to 17th centuries. Grade 7 students watched the "Jinan Liu Family Kung Fu Needle Shop". This copper plate is the earliest known trademark advertisement in the world, which clearly reflects the fierce competition of shops at that time and reflects the unprecedented development of commerce in the Song Dynasty. Students also created in the old form of advertising, showing their rich imagination. Grade 8 students explored the China's modern history based on Shanghai as a miniature of China.
數(shù)學(xué)課 Math Class
在過去幾周里,數(shù)學(xué)教室稍顯繁忙。小虎們認(rèn)真完成他們的基準(zhǔn)測試,嘗試解決有趣的數(shù)學(xué)問題,在數(shù)學(xué)課堂上更加積極主動(dòng)地參與到活動(dòng)中來。讓我們一起來看看都有哪些活動(dòng)吧!
It has been busy over the past few weeks in the Math classrooms. Students have been completing benchmark tests, tackling new and intriguing problems, and becoming more hands-on in the class. Here are some examples of some of the things that have been happening in Math.
復(fù)合幾何體項(xiàng)目:大家和各自的小組成員一起,用三至五個(gè)幾何體設(shè)計(jì)出一個(gè)復(fù)合幾何體。小虎們創(chuàng)造出了極具創(chuàng)造力,堪稱杰作的作品。設(shè)計(jì)過程需要運(yùn)用所學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)技能,從而計(jì)算出該幾何體的體積和表面積。小虎們合作無間,樂趣無窮!
Compound Solid Project: Students were using 3-5 geometric solids to design a compound solid with their groupmates. Many of them were creative and made masterpieces. Students needed to find the volume and the exposed surface area of the compound solids by using the mathematical skills we learned. They cooperated well and had fun.
數(shù)學(xué)課本演講:每個(gè)周五,小虎們都會(huì)用數(shù)學(xué)課本進(jìn)行雙語的演講展示。在中文的數(shù)學(xué)課本中選取一個(gè)話題,和自己的小組成員們一同準(zhǔn)備展示內(nèi)容。他們是這節(jié)課的小小老師,用中英雙語介紹數(shù)學(xué)概念和解決數(shù)學(xué)問題的方法。在這一周,G6年級的主題是“形狀的變化“,G7年級的主題是”物品,分型和力的力量“。在展示這些話題的時(shí)候小虎們表現(xiàn)得非常好,課程內(nèi)容妙趣橫生,讓其他同學(xué)都聽得津津有味。
Chinese textbook Presentations: On Fridays, we have bilingual Chinese math textbook presentations. Students selected a topic to present and prepared for the presentation with their groupmates. They are the teachers in the class, introducing math concepts and problem-solving skills bilingually. This week, the grade 6 topic was 'transformations of a shape' and the grade 7 topic was "product, quotient, and power of powers'. The students did a great job presenting their topics, keeping their class interested and engaged.
戲劇課 Drama Class
G6至G9年級的小虎們都在練習(xí)自己之前選擇的劇本。他們可以自己撰寫原創(chuàng)劇本,或是使用網(wǎng)課期間自己學(xué)習(xí)到的劇本寫作技巧將已有故事改編為完整的劇本。在完成了劇本的編輯后,小虎們還需要在限定時(shí)間內(nèi),將自己的故事用表演的形式展現(xiàn)出來。
G6-9: All students worked on their chosen script. They had the choice to write their own script or adapt an existing story into a play script (using the Scriptwriting PPT they worked on during online classes). They both edited their scripts and role-played their stories on a class-by-class basis, depending on what was needed at any given time.
《綠野仙蹤》俱樂部
Wizard of Oz ASAs
周一的《綠野仙蹤》俱樂部涵蓋了G3至G7年級的學(xué)生,他們將在整部戲里扮演魔術(shù)師這一角色。盡管臺詞不是很多,但他們的角色非常關(guān)鍵,在整部戲中貫穿始終。
G3-7 ASAs: Monday's ASA is a mixture of Grade 3-7 students, who will perform as the Magicians. Though their speaking is minimal, their role is vital as are an almost physical constant throughout the play.
周二的《綠野仙蹤》俱樂部則由G2年級加上一名G5年級學(xué)生構(gòu)成,他們將分別扮演劇中Winkies和邪惡的西方女巫一角。女巫是劇中的主要角色之一,包含了許多對白和表演內(nèi)容。
G2&5 ASAs: Tuesday's ASAs is Grade 2 plus one Grade 5 student, who will perform as the Winkies and the Wicked Witch of the West, respectfully. They have several group scenes, including physical movement and some dialogue. The Witch is one of the leads, who has a lot of speaking and acting.
周三的《綠野仙蹤》俱樂部主要是劇中的主演們參與,橫跨了G1至G9年級。他們對這部戲來說至關(guān)重要,每個(gè)人都有著大量的對白和舞臺動(dòng)作。部分學(xué)生甚至要從劇開頭一直演出到結(jié)尾。
G1-9 ASAs: Wednesday's ASA is the leads from the play, mixing from Grade 1 to 9. They are vital to the production as have a great deal of lines and physicality. Some of these students are practically in the entirely of the play.
幼兒部的戲劇課以有趣的戲劇游戲作為熱身,幫助學(xué)生們重新復(fù)習(xí)課堂規(guī)則和例程。學(xué)生們通過動(dòng)物和物體模仿游戲來放松身體,并練習(xí)肢體控制的能力。他們還通過系列活動(dòng)開始了“服飾”類戲劇專業(yè)詞匯的學(xué)習(xí)。
PK1-K: Students were excited to get back to school and our drama class began with fun activities that would help kids review rules and routines. Drama games like animal & object imitation were introduced to help students relax and control their bodies. Theatre vocabularies like “Costume” were studied through various activities.
PK1和PK2的小虎們討論了海洋里的生物以及可以在海邊開展的活動(dòng)類型。隨后他們模仿了不同的海洋動(dòng)物形態(tài)與動(dòng)作。本周大家還學(xué)習(xí)了新故事《賣帽子的人和猴子》,接下來他們會(huì)演繹這個(gè)小故事,并開始接觸服裝和道具的運(yùn)用。
PreK Students discussed about marine creatures and activities they can do by the seaside. Then they imitated different marine animals’ shapes and movements. A new story, “The Cap Seller and Monkeys”, was introduced and will be acted out this week. Through this story, students will dabble with the use of props and costumes.
K班學(xué)生們開始學(xué)習(xí)戲劇元素“服飾”。他們從使用教室里角色扮演區(qū)域的服裝開始,為服裝對應(yīng)的角色即興編創(chuàng)了小故事。學(xué)生們還通過手工活動(dòng)來釋放想象力,為角色搭配創(chuàng)新的服裝并借此發(fā)散聯(lián)想出相應(yīng)的背景故事。
Students in Kindergarten started to learn the theatre element “costume”. They used costumes from their role play center and improvised short plots for corresponding characters. Handcraft activities were conducted to help kids unleash imagination and create complex characters with mixed costumes.
