5月27日上周五，AIC舉辦了一場(chǎng)慶祝英語(yǔ)和西班牙語(yǔ)的活動(dòng)。IB西班牙語(yǔ)和英語(yǔ)學(xué)生，與IGCSE戲劇學(xué)生和一些IGCSE1視覺(jué)藝術(shù)學(xué)生參與了此活動(dòng)。

Last Friday, the 27th of May, AIC held an event to celebrate the English and Spanish languages. Unfortunately, it was postponed from April when the school went online because of the pandemic.

IB Spanish and English students took part, some IGCSE drama students and some IGCSE1 visual art students.

In the library, the English and Spanish students had mounted posters to illustrate a writer or artist of their choice, which included portraits drawn by visual arts students. As the audience visited their exhibition stand, they spoke in character to tell the audience about their life and work.

Featured artists and writers included Nobel prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez, famous painters Frida Kahlo and Fernando Botero, and English and American writers like Ursula Le Guin and J K Rowling.

The event concluded with a performance of

some extracts from Shakespeare. Delia and Kenny from IGCSE2 performed short excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream, while Joyce Lin performed a piece from Hamlet.

"It was great to collaborate with other departments," said Head of English Sam Hyman, "and thanks to all the homeroom teachers who brought a very receptive audience o the library".

DP1學(xué)生Abby Ding說(shuō)：“語(yǔ)言活動(dòng)對(duì)我們所有人來(lái)說(shuō)都是一項(xiàng)激動(dòng)人心且有意義的活動(dòng)。作為一名西班牙學(xué)生，我代表了藝術(shù)家Fernando Botero。通過(guò)扮演“胖乎乎的”蒙娜麗莎，并將這位藝術(shù)家介紹給我的同學(xué)，我感到自己更融入了拉丁美洲文化，也更有信心與眾不同。”。

DP1 student Abby Ding had this to say: “The language event was an exciting and meaningful activity for all of us. As a Spanish student, I represented the artist Fernando Botero. By acting as the "chubby" Mona Lisa and introducing this artist to my classmates, I felt more integrated into Latin American culture and more confident to be different”.
